I show this quarter window seal / weatherstrip fits the 70-72 Ford only. It may be the same or work on your Mercury but I am not able to confirm this. You can try it as our return policy is very forgiving and flexible. As far as how these quarter window seals attach, typically they slide into a channel on the metal trim piece attached to the glass. This quarter window lead edge seal is correct for the 1971 Ford LTD. This seal attaches vertically to the front edge of the quarter window and seals the vertical gap between the quarter window and door glass.
